Deb
enjoys painting portraits, figures and scenes in oil. Portrait painting is one of the most
rewarding art forms, for it captures the physical
likeness as well as the personality and soul of the
person, or of a subject and place, while still creating a wonderful piece of art.
Figures, such as equine and pet paintings are enjoyable
and bring great joy to their owners. Scenic paintings
bring a story to a new, visual level and can be very
emotive.
Deb is able to portray realism in
portrait and figure paintings and emotional power in her
style which has been likened to that of John Singer
Sargent. Most of her instruction has come from
painters and teachers in that style. Paintings can be produced by the artist from photographs; or from
photographs and a live sitting to establish color and
for sketches when necessary.
